Fair warning: This process may take many tedious and frustrating but ultimately worthwhile years.
Step 1: Remove the bad.
Flee the sources of your negativity (both external and internal). Dispose of the transactions that never repay your investments. Reject the motivations and the goals of the petty tyrants who revel in your trouble. Humor the petty and the bitter people but keep them at arm’s length. Raise a toast to all that you have survived. Resolve to better today with tomorrow.
Step 2: Prepare for better.
Notice the assets you have in your arsenal. Admire the heroes who cross your line of sight. Enjoy the times that you are able to be your most best self. Share the resources and advice that have gotten you to this point. Prepare yourself to act in ways you admire. Set a place at your table for others who need to be heard. Go to sleep satisfied each day.
Step 3: Add the good.
Amplify the amazing instead of the merely tolerable. Nurture the harvest that grows between the weeds, but know that both come from the same, damp soil.
Belligerently build on the foundations others have set for you. Invest in the potential of what is long dormant but still alive. Reflect the warmth of the kindness of other people. Help others pull themselves up. Focus on what you are proud of and what makes you happy.
