Tottenham Hotspur are finally gearing up for the opening of their new stadium after supporters were told their access cards and membership packs are being sent out.
Telegraph Sport revealed on Wednesday night that Spurs are working towards a new opening date of December 15 for the Premier League match against Burnley.
And plans are now in place to make sure season-ticket holders will be able to get in, as access cards that were originally meant to be sent out in August are being distributed.
It is the first major sign that Spurs are seriously preparing for the opening of the stadium, which could cost over £1 billion, before Christmas.
Planning is underway to try to hold two test events at the stadium at the end of November in preparation for a December 15 opening, following discussions between Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy and contractors Mace.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino revealed that Levy had told him that Spurs are on schedule to finish work on the stadium in time for the team to move in by Christmas.
