Toys ‘R’ Us Singapore holding a massive clearance sale that’ll go on for more than two months

As much as we’re sad to see Toys “R” Us go overseas, parents of little runts across the country will be very happy to know that the toy store is holding a massive warehouse sale here

Geoffrey’s Toy Bazaar features discounts of up to 75 percent off in a sale that will go on till Nov 30th, ensuring a bumper crop of children’s gifts that can be purchased for cheap before Christmas comes around. As Great Deals pointed out, the duration of the sale is “strangely long”, but it indicates the massive volume of stocked-up merchandise that haven’t been selling well.

From pictures posted on Facebook by Toys “R” Us Singapore, they converted a huge space at Tiong Bahru’s Tan Boon Liat Building into a massive facility that hosts racks upon racks of toys that folks weren’t interested in grabbing. Honestly, it’s mind-boggling to see the array of action figures, cuddly animal dolls, and dollhouses that Toys “R” Us are still holding on to right now, and it makes sense that the sale will go on for over two months. They’ll probably need longer than that to clear out everything.

Despite all its stores in the UK and the United States shutting down, Toys “R” Us Singapore is doing fine and dandy, thanks to the brand’s Asian operations being financially independent, separate entities. Currently, there are 11 Toys ‘R’ Us stores in Singapore, part of the over 400 outlets across Southeast-Asia and Greater China.

“Toys ‘R’ Us (Asia) is open for business and continuing to serve our customers as we always do,” affirmed Toys “R” Us (Asia) president Andre Javes in a Yahoo News report.

“We are a financially robust and self-funding retail operation, which continues to significantly grow and invest in this region.”
