There are many ways to use string lights to brighten your bedroom, but none so sweet and whimsical as this DIY moon light. With only a few simple steps and materials, this dreamy accent adds charm to the place you’ll rest your head. Sweet dreams.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Gold hoop (available at most craft stores)
- Wire cutters
- Glue gun
- Small hanging hooks
- Wired string lights
- Small nails
Here’s how to do it:
On your gold hoop, use the marker to mark where you’re going to cut. (⅓ of the hoop.)
Cut with the wire cutters.
Flip the smaller curve inward to align it in a moon shape. You may need to bend the hoop to adjust the curve and get the right shape.
Hot-glue the ends of the hoop together.
Attach hanging hooks to the top and sides of the moon using the hot glue gun.
Wrap wired string lights around the moon shape. Don’t wrap it too tight, and remember: it doesn’t have to be perfect. Uneven spaces between the lights will add character to the moon.
Hang it up using the nails and the hooks you attached, and plug it in.
Now you can sleep under the moon.
