Leeds United are learning so quickly from coach Marcelo Bielsa that they were able to dish out a footballing lesson, admitted Derby County midfielder Craig Bryson.
Bielsa has brought his brand of high-pressing, high-energy football to West Yorkshire, and the early signs are that it could overwhelm the rest of the Championship.
Leeds brushed aside Frank Lampard’s Derby with a double from Kemar Roofe sandwiched between Mateusz Klich’s curling opener and an Ezjgan Alioski header. Although Tom Lawrence briefly had Derby level, they were rarely on terms with the visitors.
“We came up with a plan to try to stop them, but I don’t think we carried out the plan the way the gaffer wanted us to,” said Bryson.
“I think we were just beaten by the better team. They were a bit brighter, a bit sharper than us, probably in all departments.
