A 56-year-old woman was found lying dead in the car park of ITE College Central in Ang Mo Kio on Thursday evening (19 July). Police have classified the case as murder.
Yahoo News Singapore understands that the victim is Low Hwee Geok, director of the college’s examinations division.
According to the Singapore Police Force, Low was allegedly stabbed by a 66-year-old man, who himself was taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital after sustaining injuries. According to media reports, his wounds may have been self-inflicted.
The 66-year-old man is the woman’s ex-husband.
Gruesome images of the scene circulating on social media showed a woman lying on the ground between two parked cars and a man covered in blood.
In the wake of the grisly incident, ITE College Central posted a statement on Facebook about the incident, saying it was an isolated incident. “We would like to assure parents, students and the public that our campus is safe for students, staff and members of the public.”
Police investigations are in progress.
