A man is upset because people keep pooing on his garage.

Matthew Drayton, from Cardiff, Wales, said he’s counted at least five incidents in which people have defecated in the lane behind his property in the last few years.

Matthew’s house backs onto Partridge Lane in the Roath area of the city.

The 49-year-old, who lives at home with his wife and toddler, said drug users are to blame for deciding his property is a toilet.

Matthew’s now installed CCTV to catch the culprits out. Children have stopped playing in the nearby park due to overflowing bins and syringes.

“I cycle to work a couple of times a week and we use the lane a lot because of our bikes,” Matthew told Wales Online .

“One time I cycled straight out and it was all over my tyres.

“Another time my wife had been to soft play with our toddler and had to negotiate the faeces to get back into the garage as someone had done it while she had been away.

“We always have needles and syringes in the lane. There is all sorts of drug paraphernalia.”

Matthew has recorded a number of people squatting behind his garage and going to the loo. In one clip, a woman brings her own toilet roll.

It is likely other instances have occurred uncaptured on Matthew’s recording device.

The dad said plans to install lighting in the troubled lane may only make the situation worse.

He said: “This is not a night-time problem – it only occurs during the day. It is a meeting place for intravenous drug users across Cardiff.

“The garage is slightly set back so they can not been seen from the entrance to the lane.

“It has now happened five times in the three years we have lived here.

“Since we installed CCTV 18 months ago it has never been the same person and has always been daytime – at 5pm, 9.30am and 12pm.

“As you can imagine I’m very angry that Cardiff Council wants to put street lights up, turning night time into daytime. I can only see this getting worse if they go ahead.”

Cardiff Council has yet to respond to calls for a statement.
