(Source: sg.news.yahoo.com)

Expect a delay in your journey on the East-West Line (EWL) due to a train fault, said rail operator SMRT on Friday (18 May).

At 5.10pm, SMRT posted a tweet advising commuters to add 20 minutes to their travel time from Boon Lay station to Queenstown station towards Pasir Ris station.

[EWL]: Due to a train fault, pls add 20mins train travel time from #BoonLay to #Queenstown towards #PasirRis.

This comes a day after commuters travelling on the North-South Line (NSL) during rush hour were hit with delays due to a “platform screen door fault”.

At one point, commuters were advised to add 45 minutes to their travel time from Ang Mo Kio station to Dhoby Ghaut station towards Marina South Pier station. The fault was cleared in slightly over two hours.
