Try Texture for FREE, the Netflix of magazines that Apple just purchased

The big headline in the Apple news cycle today was its decision to purchase the magazine subscription service Texture. It’s no surprise that Apple is looking to bolster its news curation backend, which as Eddy Cue noted at SXSW today, has been the subject of some ridicule. So what all does Texture offer? Dubbed the ‘Netflix of Magazines’, this service gives subscribers access to a wide range of magazines that when combined would cost much more than the $10 per month fee charged by Texture.

Those interested in Apple’s latest venture will want to reach for a free 7-day trial to this service. New users will be able to enjoy the likes of Sports Illustrated, Rolling Stone, GQ and others without committing right away. More details below.

Officially, Texture has over 200 magazines already in the fold, including some of the biggest names out there right now. The beauty of this service is that subscribers have access to all of these titles at one time versus having to pick and choose. Traditional magazine subscriptions are going to the wayside and Texture, along with Apple, has developed an intriguing way to still enjoy original content without waiting for it in the mail.

Texture is available for iOS, Android and Fire OS devices, although with today’s news it will be interesting to see if support for Apple’s competitors goes to the wayside. After the 7-day free trial concludes, Texture will charge you $10 per month with the option of cancelling at any time. Sure, Apple’s plans for the future of this service are largely unknown, but for the time being this is a great way to enjoy content on an ala carte basis.

You can check out Texture for yourself here and start your free 7-day trial.
