Don’t knock Jil Sander for only using neutral tones in their collections — there’s so much more to be said about interesting cuts and structures that established the house as a pioneer of normcore fashion. And we loved their SS18 collection. Taking that often overlooked talent to the forefront is perhaps the genius idea behind the Jil Sander 7 Days Shirt Collection, an initiative tweaking its signature poplin shirt in seven ways to sartorially illustrate the je ne sais quoi of each day of the week. The looks might seem subtle, their prices are far from it: a set of 7 Shirts (Monday to Sunday) will retail at $10,000.
Clearly Jil Sander’s not one to shy away from irony, and we’re glad that they’re keeping secret their interpretation of their collection. These images of their suit bags named “Monday” to “Sunday” are so exciting. No, really, they’re saying something with absolutely nothing. Of course, one can imagine “Monday” is probably going to look more formal whereas “Friday” probably will be our favourite with a more relaxed silhouette. And if you’re wondering how we feel throughout a typical work week, this meme pretty much sums it up:
The shirts will be sold separately at Jil Sander Hilton Hotel from March 2018.
