Chupa Chups lollipops now available as sparkling soda in Singapore

Heads up, purveyors of nostalgia — childhood candy Chupa Chups lollipops are now available in soda form. Best of all, they’re available in Singapore.

Much like their hard candied counterparts, Sparkling Chupa Chups sodas come in strawberry and cream, orange, and grape flavours, which we discovered courtesy of all-things-new-and-viral Singaporean Twitter user Xavier Lur:

So let’s get to the essentials: it costs S$1.80 per can, and can be found at Koryo Mart (a Korean mart) near Beauty World MRT station.

Here are some reviews from people who have tried the drink before:

Tried this a little while back just haven’t gotten around to posting about it. This is the Chupa Chups Sparking Strawberries and Cream soda. I was pretty sure I was not going to like this as I don’t like dairy and soda mixed. But I still wanted to try it just to see. I think it tastes very similar to the chupa chup candy it is supposed to resemble so that is a good thing. It’s very sweet and does have that milk type flavour like Milkis (a popular Korean milk soda). So if you like that and like sweet strawberry taste this might be for you. I didn’t really care for it but as I mentioned I kinda knew that going into it. #soda #lifeinkorea #koreadrinks #convienencestore #chupachups #chupachupssoda #strawberriesandcream #츄파춥스 #츄파춥스스파클링 #7eleven #7elevenkorea

Another one of the new Chupa Chupa Sparkling Sodas. This one is orange. I’m not that much of a fan of orange flavored things. I don’t mind it but it’s not one I choose for myself very often. But like the last one of these I just wanted to try it for novelty’s sake. I was pleasantly surprised with this version. It has a pleasant orange flavor to it. It tastes more like actual orange than a lot of other orange sodas do. Not something I would buy again just because I’m not such a fan of orange flavors but I wouldn’t mind drinking it again if the need arose. #chupachup #soda #chupachupsoda #korea #lifeinkorea #orange #orangesoda #츄파춥 #오렌지 #소다 #오렌지소다 #drinks #sparklingdrinks #convienencestore

“Tastes like typical soda, sweet and gassy.”

Now this secret’s out, you might find it out of stock at the mart, so we’d say it’s best not to get your hopes up of snagging it on your first try. Otherwise, you could also try your luck at other Korean marts around Singapore.
