When you have a job you like, it’s good to know that it offers stability and security in addition to a decent paycheck. That’s why job security is an important factor for those looking for work.
Recently, Indeed.com* – a global jobs and career info search platform – released a report on which companies rate highest when gauged on their job security. In a November survey of 1,000 of its users who are looking for a job, Indeed discovered that more than 40% said job security was one of the most important factors they take into account in their searches. Most important, according to respondents, was compensation followed by health benefits and job location. Job security came in fourth.
“That shows the power of security for people who are not only unemployed, but seeking to make a career change,” said Paul Wolfe, Indeed’s SVP and head of human resources
In compiling its list of the companies offering the best job security, Indeed looked to the companies in its database that have amassed at least 100 job security reviews from employees who work there, rating their firms on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the highest.
Below is the list of the 20 companies that scored the best.
“In today’s labor market companies are more aware of their work environments, and offer generous benefits and training programs as a way to instill a sense of security and purpose among employees,” Wolfe said. “In order to draw these high grades, the companies on this list are going above and beyond to make their employees feel valued, as well as providing a sense of security for their role with the business.”
