SINGAPORE – McDonald’s is bringing back its popular Samurai burger on Friday (Oct 13), even as it dropped teasers for a new upcoming Ninja burger.

The Samurai burgers will come in both chicken and beef and will be sold at all McDonald’s outlets and on its delivery site from Friday.

Customers can choose between grilled chicken patties or quarter pounder beef patties.

Along with the burgers, McDonald’s is bringing back seaweed shaker fries – customers can upsize their meals for these.

The Samurai Special meals – priced from $8.80, include a large seaweed shaker fries and a large Heaven & Earth green tea drink.

For dessert, customers can get a matcha McFlurry with red bean from $3.

McDonald’s had been dropping hints of the promotion in the past week.

On Monday, it posted a short clip of a Samurai warrior on Facebook, writing: “Your favourite warrior returns 13 October”.

The post was liked more than 1,200 times and shared nearly 300 times.

It followed up with a post on Wednesday with a jigsaw clip of a Samurai warrior, challenging viewers to pause the video at the right time for a clue of “a taste you’ve been waiting for”.

Several commenters quickly guessed that the Samurai burger was making a comeback.

The Samurai burger has been available for a limited time yearly since at least 2012.

Last year, the burgers returned with spicy McNuggets and coffee McFlurry with Oreo cookies.
