The father of pop diva Beyoncé turned to Twitter on Sunday (June 18) to announce that his daughter and her rap star husband Jay Z are now the parents of twins, confirming earlier reports of one of the year’s most highly anticipated celebrity births.
The couple already have a five-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy.
Here’s more about Beyonce and her babies, as well as other well-known people who are parents of twins.
1. Beyoncé and Jay-Z

According to People magazine, US Weekly and other entertainment news sources on Saturday (June 17), Beyoncé, 35, has given birth to her twins, but the sexes of the babies have yet to be confirmed.
In her pregnancy announcement in February, Beyoncé said, “We would like to share our love and happiness. We have been blessed two times over. We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two and we thank you for all your well wishes.”
Since then, she has shared much of her pregnancy on social media and to the public, making several red-carpet appearances and even performing with her baby bump at the Grammy Awards earlier this year.
2. Amal and George Clooney

On June 6, actor George Clooney and his wife, international human rights lawyer Amal Clooney, welcomed boy-girl twins into their family. The twins, named Alexander and Ella, are the couple’s first children.
“We are over the moon. It was a beautiful delivery. The babies are beautiful and are doing well,” Amal’s mother told AFP after the pregnancy.
3. Cristiano Ronaldo

According to Portugese media and AFP, Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo became father to twins with a surrogate mother on June 10. Named Eva and Mateo, the girl and boy are not the soccer star’s first children – he had his first son, Cristiano Junior, in June 2010.
He is currently in a relationship with model Georgina Rodriguez.
4. Charlie Young

Hong Kong actress Charlie Young gave birth to twin boys on April 27, with her Singaporean husband Khoo Shao Tze. The children are the couple’s first, after they got married in 2013.
“Dear little babies, thank you for coming into our lives and letting us have a new understanding of love,” she said in a social media post, accompanied by a picture of her twins in blue blankets.
5. Fan Fan and Blackie Chen

In January 2015, TV host Taiwanese Blackie Chen and singer Fan Fan announced the birth of their twin boys. Both posted on their individual Weibo accounts, with Chen saying, “Thank you for your good wishes, mother and sons are safe. The two brothers quietly came to this beautiful world today. We thank God for our two babies.”
According to Fan’s Weibo post, the birth of her twins came “early”, and a report by United Daily News stated that the children were supposed to have come only a month later.
6. Lee Young Ae

In early 2011, South Korean actress Lee Young Ae gave birth to boy-girl twins, with Korean-American businessman husband Jeong Ho Yeong.
With her children now six years old, Lee is focusing more on family life than on her career, according to an email interview with The Straits Times early this year.
“Even though I want to take on more roles, my kids need more care from their mother. And that will be the case in the near future as well,” she said.
7. George W. Bush

Former US president George W. Bush’s twin daughters, Barbara and Jenna Bush, were born in 1981. Now 35 years old, Barbara, the elder of the fraternal twin daughters, is a health care advocate living in New York, while Jenna is a television correspondent.
The twins were in the news earlier this year, when they wrote a letter of advice and praise to Malia and Sasha Obama, the daughters of former president Barack Obama.
8. Goh Chok Tong

Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong and his wife Tan Choo Leng have a pair of twins, Dr Goh Jin Hian and his sister Jin Theng, both 49 years old.
When talking to ST in 2005, Dr Goh Jin Hian described his parents as “hands off” with him and his sister, who now lives in London.
He added that his parents “would tell us, it’s okay if you don’t want to study, so long as you’re sure that’s where you want to end up. It’s up to you what you want to be in life.”
